The Friends of Budehaven (PTA) held its first community event last week where students were asked to bring in food and toys for the Food Hub in Bude. IT was a brilliant start for the new PTA and of direct benefit to the community.
Teacher, Anthony O’Dwyer, was delighted with the response and took some students to the Food Hub this week to drop off the collected items.
Amanda Tilly from the Oceans Community Centre where the Food Hub is based, said: We would like to say a huge thank you to Budehaven Community School for their donation. There was so much we couldn’t fit it all into one photo! This is going to help make Christmas easier for so many people.
As a special treat, students also popped in for a free sample of chocolate from Sweet P, the chocolatier shop in the Strand Shopping Arcade, owned by Pam Alexander.
The students on the visit included:
Arne Hamer (yr7) Daniel Ellis (yr7) Katie Harper (yr8) Peter Trowbridge (yr9) Bonnie Zoeftig (yr9) Ziggy Zoeftig (yr8) Sascha Mees (yr10) and Evie Alexander (yr9)
