The Budehaven House System – What, Who and Why.
The new House system at Budehaven has taken shape and we are delighted to have implemented it so successfully.
The names and focus of the Houses are centred around seven different charities.
Throughout the academic year, students will be invited to compete in many diverse events; an eclectic mix, in order to appeal to all the varying interests, strengths and intrigue of our students. Alongside these competitions, further House points can be earned by recognising individual achievement points and attendance. Similarly, fundraising events will take place to raise awareness and support the chosen charities.
Every member of staff are assigned a House and will take part in their own competitions, in order to support their House too.
We are extremely excited to see it all take shape and looking forward to recognising students who embrace the assigned House values, with our new House Ties. To build an air of identity and a healthy competitive atmosphere around school between both form and year groups, all students and staff will be given a coloured House badge to wear.
The Houses are led by various members of staff and I’d like to thank them in advance for their enthusiasm and efforts to implement this exciting new system in our school. Collaboration, support and recognition throughout each House will undoubtedly embed confidence, resilience and enjoyment and we can’t wait to see this unfold.
All students will be given further information once back in in school. They will attend their first House assembly in the coming weeks to hear about the upcoming competitions, whilst making a start on building House unity.
Each of our houses are named after inspirational charities and organisations.
