Cover Supervisor
Overview
Contract: 37 hours per week, term time only
Start Date: ASAP
We are looking for a confident, reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join our team. The successful candidate will supervise classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain on task with the work set. This is an excellent opportunity for someone considering a career in teaching or for individuals with experience working with young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise whole classes during teacher absence
- Deliver pre-prepared lessons and manage classroom behaviour
- Ensure students stay on task and complete the work provided
- Support the school’s behaviour and safeguarding policies
- Assist with administrative or support tasks when cover is not required
The Ideal Candidate
- Confident and positive role model for young people
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- Ability to remain calm, professional and adaptable
- Previous experience working with secondary age students (desirable)
- A genuine interest in education and student wellbeing
