Dear Parents and Carers,
Re: Start of the new term update and the announcement of a Bank Holiday for Monday 19th September
I hope you are well and that you had a restful summer.
This Wednesday marks a week since we welcomed our new Year 7 and Year 12 students to Budehaven Community School. I am delighted at how well both year groups have settled into their new ways of working in school, and at their positivity. Thank you for your support in ensuring they arrive at school on time, attending every day.
Budehaven Community School will be closed on Monday 19th September, for the state funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
A book of condolence in school will be placed in the school library from Wednesday 14th September; staff and students write a message of condolence in the book if they wish to.
During this period of national mourning, it is expected that all students attend school as normal, other than on the Bank Holiday.
I would like to remind all parents, carers and students of our high expectations for correct uniform. Please ensure that if your child is in Years 7 to 11, they must wear their blazer to school.
Should you have any questions, particularly if you are a Year 7 parent or carer, please don’t hesitate to contact us. I would like to remind all parents and carers that the protocol for raising any questions or concerns with school is to contact your child’s form tutor or Head of Year in the first instance. This way, any questions or queries can be addressed promptly and with the correct person.
Yours faithfully,
Mr D Wilkes
Headteacher
