Joe maloney
Budehaven Community School students are celebrating the culmination of two year’s hard work with A Level and BTEC examination results. Headteacher, Dominic Wilkes commented “At Budehaven, we are incredibly proud of our students and the hard work they have put into their studies over the last two years. This year hasn’t been what any of us would have expected, and we are delighted to see so many of our young people being rewarded for their hard work, as they take their next steps, be it going off to University, an apprenticeship, or beginning full-time employment routes. Well done!”
Jasmine Smith, Léa Dumas and Tom Horn
Many students have done exceptionally well, and are heading off to their first choice Universities. Eleanor Theakston achieved two A grades and a grade B, and has been accepted at Oxford University to study History. Jasmine Smith achieved three A* grades, and is going to the University of Bath to study Management. Marie Poole achieved two A* and one A grade and will start at the University of Leeds this autumn, studying English and History. Tom Horn, Sixth Form President, achieved three A grades, and will being studying International History and Politics at the University of Leeds. Lyle Coles achieved three A grades, and will go to the University of Exeter to study Biochemistry with Industrial Experience. Luther Clayton achieved one A* and four A grades. We are certain that his ambition to become a film producer will be realised in the near future and we look forward to following his successes. Ned Gleed achieved A* A B, and will be studying Physics at the University of Exeter. Léa Dumas has been accepted at the University of Bath to study International Management and Modern Languages – Spanish after achieving three A grades. Joe Maloney and Kylie Piper achieved two BTEC Distinction star grades and one Distinction. Joe is off to Marjon Univerity to train to be a PE teacher, and Kylie is planning her next steps with an apprenticeship in the sports industry. Ella and Khaya Paton, both achieved a grade A, a grade B and a Distinction*. Khaya will study Sport and Exercise Science at the University of Bath, whilst Ella is going to pursue a career in physiotherapy, and has received a successful conditional offer at Cardiff University.

Assistant Headteacher: Director of Post-16, Matt White, praised the students for their hard work and resilient approach to their studies, ‘”Our students have worked incredibly hard; I look forward to seeing them develop further as they go on to the next steps in their academic careers. Some of our students have overcome difficulties in their lives throughout their time at Budehaven, and their results reinforce their excellent attitude and tenacity”.

Chair of Governors, Laura Mead, was in school for the results morning and commented “I am so impressed with how the students have tackled such a difficult situation, and I am very proud of their achievements, and the hard work of all the staff at this time”
