Y11 Arrangements for Leavers’ Day
Traditionally Budehaven students are treated to a Leavers’ Day celebration at the end of their time in compulsory education. This year we plan to hold Leavers’ Day on Wednesday 28th June.
Dress code is smart and we expect students to arrive at the rooms indicated below at 9.15 am. The day should be finished around 3.00pm so those students who come in on buses will be able to return as normal on the Bus. Please go to the rooms indicated below: –
JB – E7
EMC – E8
PRL – E10
CWN – E1
HKW – E2
The first part of the day will give students the opportunity to return any Library Book, text books, locker keys and settle any outstanding business with departments such as paying for materials and picking up any work they may want to keep. The library must maintain its wide variety of books so I must politely request that you support your child in returning all outstanding library books they may still have in their possession.
The day is also a chance to meet with their form tutor and form mates to catch up about how the exams have gone. During the second part of the day the whole year group will meet for a light hearted review of their time at Budehaven with awards, speeches and music all designed to celebrate their achievements. We will then distribute yearbooks and they sit down with friends for a buffet lunch. In the afternoon there will be the traditional staff versus students matches in netball and football where we hope students will take part or support their favourite team.
Of course the school prom will then take place at The Falcon Hotel on the following day, Thursday 29th June. Can I take this last opportunity to say that I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as Coordinator of Learning and Personal Well-Being for your child and I do hope that both the Leavers ‘ Day and Prom will provide us with a fitting tribute to their hard work and effort with us over the last five years.
