Dear Parents and Carers,
Re: Weekly update
I hope you and your families are well.
Thank you for your support over the last couple of weeks with preparation for the mid-term assessments that students have completed. We have had to work in a very different way throughout these mid-term assessments, and I thank all our students for their continued hard work. We will collate and analyse the results of these assessments, and teachers will use them to inform their teaching moving forward, as well as use them alongside the assessments we have done in school already, and those we complete in the future.
Also, thank you to the staff and parents who have engaged so positively with our recent online parents’ evenings. Yet again we have adapted to a new way of working, and have received a lot of positive and constructive feedback on these evenings.
Information regarding free school meals vouchers and how they will be provided will be sent out to all qualifying families next week. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please email us at: enquiries@budehaven.cornwall.sch.uk
To recognise the fact that there has been a lot of time spent in front of a computer screen since January, and to do something very different, on Thursday 11th February, following an online tutor group session at 9.10am, students and staff will be taking part in a “step away from the screen” day, in which they will be encouraged to try at least one of a variety of different activities within the day, and share what they have learned. I have asked staff to come up with their ideas for the day, and we will share them with all students and staff early next week. I thank staff for their creative and innovative contributions. Together, we believe this will be a nice end to a challenging half term, as we break up for February half term at the end of the day on Thursday, as Friday is an INSET day.
As I said in my letter last Friday, if you need any help or support, please remember we are here for you.
Have a lovely weekend,
Yours faithfully,
Mr D Wilkes
