Rehearsals are now well underway for this year’s big Drama Department production of The Blues Brothers’.
The two lead actors, Luka Talajic-Sims (Elwood) and Isaac Guthrie (Jake) are tirelessly rehearsing and learning their lines – especially difficult as they are in every single scene of the play!
They are joined by other fantastic actors, some of which have appeared in previous school productions over the last 4 years, and the wonderfully talented musicians who will provide an extravaganza of musical delight, transporting you back to the 60’s with such songs as “Raw Hide”, “Think” and the blues riff that is so associated with The Blues Brothers, “Peter Gunn”.
Jake is met from prison by his brother, Elwood and they go to the Convent they were brought up in to see “the Penguin”. She tells them that the County are going to close the Convent down unless they can find five thousand dollars, and fast.
Jake and Elwood, after “seeing the light” offer to put the band, The Blues Brothers” back together to do a gig to raise the money. What follows is an hilarious story of how they persuade the rest of the band to leave their jobs and play again.
Tickets for the 4 performances are on sale from Stratton Rd Reception during school hours.
