21st March 2022
Dear Parents and Carers of our new Year 7 intake for September 2022,
I hope you and your families are well.
It is with a heavy heart that have postponed this Wednesday’s Year 6 Open Evening due to very high numbers of positive cases of Covid-19 within our staff and student populations.
We currently have over 130 students off school, and ten members of staff absent due to Covid-19, including myself and Mrs Westwood, Deputy Headteacher.
A significant part of the Open Evening is getting a chance to meet the senior staff of the school, particularly the Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher. We also want the chance to meet you all too. Another part of the evening is the chance to showcase our different subject areas. With so many key staff missing, this would be difficult. Mrs Osborne is not currently in school, and she forms an integral part of the Open Evening events and the process of transition from primary to secondary school.
We will definitely reschedule the evening for a date in the near future.
I appreciate how disappointing this will be for you all, as it is for us, but we want to be able to provide you and your child with the best possible Open Evening experience.
We will be in touch very soon with a revised date.
Yours faithfully,
Mr D Wilkes
Headteacher
