Dear Parents, Carers, Students and Staff,
Re: “No Screen Thursday”
We know everyone has put in a tremendous effort with online learning; well done and thank you for your sustained hard work. This Thursday, 11th February, is “No Screen Thursday”. Following an initial tutor group meeting at 9.10am, all students and staff are being encouraged to step away from their lockdown daily routine and try something different, that doesn’t involve learning in front of a screen all day.
I have asked staff to volunteer ideas of things that we can all take part in; below are 30 ideas from the staff. On Thursday, please choose one of these activities, or be creative with your own idea to learn or try something new. If you are happy to, document what you do in video, photo or a written account and submit it here. Our students that are in school as part of the vulnerable children and children of key workers’ provision will be taking part in non-screen activities in school, abiding by Covid-19 prevention regulations.
We are really keen to document and celebrate the day, so please can you encourage your child to document what they do, if they are happy to do so. They can take photographs, a video, write a written account, or paint or draw a picture. We will use our Facebook, Twitter and web pages, to celebrate the creativity and resilience of our community. You can submit activities HERE
If any parents and carers also wish to contribute, we would welcome this too!
Have a good day and thank you for all your support this half term.
Yours faithfully,
Mr Dominic Wilkes
Headteacher
