On Tuesday this week Budehaven hosted our first ever KS2 and 3 careers fair.
Over 400 students from year 6, 7 and 8 attended the event to interact with local employers and visitors from further afield.
Students were tasked with generating conversations to help further develop their understanding of skills needed in the world of work.
Employers included NHS Cornwall and Radiology, Crediton Milling Co, GCHQ Cornwall, Mystery Shopper along with the Navy and Cornwall college groups to name a few.
We are hugely grateful to these people for spending the time to come and work with us and to broaden students horizons in this area. The visitors commented that our students were confident, asked meaningful questions and we’re inquisitive.
The visitors were then treated to lunch prepared by Budehaven Food students, coordinated by Mrs Windle and Mrs Edwards. They commented that this was the best food they had ever been presented at an event!
We want to thank all those who attended, visitors staff and students and look forward to seeing more people from the community at future events.
