Budehaven sixth form student, Chloe Rookes, and other members of various gig and indoor rowing clubs are taking part in a 24 hour row in aid of Papyrus – a charity which aim to prevent suicide in young people. The row is in memory and honour of Jacob Whelan, whom locals had the pleasure of rowing with. The row will take place on May 28th at Bude Surf Life Saving Club grounds (located next to Rosie’s) we will carry out a period of the row here and then move back to a safe location for the rest of the duration.
The rowers are seeking as much encouragement as possible and would be very grateful if supporters could pop along during the event. Donations in support can be made through a dedicated just giving page or by buying raffles tickets and partaking in games during the day. Any encouragement would mean the world to the team of rowers.
