Mrs Jackie Walter was recently delighted to receive the ‘Highly Commended Volunteer Award’ in the School Volunteer category after being short listed for the Cornwall Celebrates Volunteering Award

The aim of the awards is to recognise the efforts and achievement of individuals volunteering within Cornwall and to celebrate the contribution local people make as often they are the unsung heroes that bind our communities together.

The 2012 Budehaven Bake Off was a massive success, all 18 cakes were delicious - lots of calories consumed but all for a good cause!!! £126 was raised for Save the Sea Pool.

The winning department was Design Technology! The catering teachers, Sarah Windle and Jenny Mathias, had a lot of pressure on their shoulders especially after their first cake of the day collapsed!! However they overcame this near disaster producing a beautifully light, delicately decorated French celebration cake called a ‘Fraisier’ (Genoise Sponge filled with creme mousseline & strawberries.
