Mrs Jackie Walter was recently delighted to receive the ‘Highly Commended Volunteer Award’ in the School Volunteer category after being short listed for the Cornwall Celebrates Volunteering Award

2012 Budehaven Inter-Department Bake Off PDF Print E-mail

The 2012 Budehaven Bake Off was a massive success, all 18 cakes were delicious - lots of calories consumed but all for a good cause!!! £126 was raised for Save the Sea Pool.

The winning department was Design Technology! The catering teachers, Sarah Windle and Jenny Mathias, had a lot of pressure on their shoulders especially after their first cake of the day collapsed!! However they overcame this near disaster producing a beautifully light, delicately decorated French celebration cake called a ‘Fraisier’ (Genoise Sponge filled with creme mousseline & strawberries.

Ellie Maynard of Budehaven Community School has won the RIBA Cornwall branch Year 10 work experience competition.

Ellie spent a week with the Trewin Design Partnership in June and was set the challenge to design and develop an information kiosk for use at numerous venues in hosting the 2012 Olympics.The competition was organised by the RIBA Cornwall branch involving several architectural practices throughout the region.

Budehaven Sixth Form Students Bike for Boobies PDF Print E-mail

Just before half term Mr Dyer and Mr Drew led a group of Year 13 Btec Outdoor Pursuits students on a two day cycle from Saunton Sands in North Devon to Plymouth Hoe on the other coast.

The idea was to raise money and awareness of the Coppafeel Breast Cancer in Young People Charity - www.coppafeel.org . The Devon Coast to Coast challenge took two days with the group staying at The Youth Hostel in Okehampton overnight.
