Homework is set in each subject to extend the learning that takes place in lesson time. Its purpose is to encourage pupils to work independently and to develop the skills that will help them become resourceful and self reliant in their learning. These are important skills of learning that they will not only need as they go through the school but also in life.
Our homework is set using Class Charts.
Learning at home will be in a variety of forms – for example, it may require research, project based inquiries or skills practice. Parents are asked to try to provide a suitable quiet place for homework to be done and to check their child’s school planner regularly to ensure that the homework set is being completed satisfactorily.
The Library & Learning Resource Centre is open from 8:00am-5:30pm as are the Information Technology areas.
Provision and support is available to pupils in the homework club during the lunch break if they so wish.
